The Real Effects of Financial Crises: Past, Present, Future
to be held at Goethe University Frankfurt, Campus Westend, Germany
on 26 January 2018
The conference aims to bring together economic theorists, applied economists, and financial historians working on the real effects of financial crises. It will provide a forum for a discussion of recent research. The organizing committee invites submissions of high-quality theoretical or empirical research papers. Some of the possible topics include (but are not limited to):
- How sure can we be that financial crises have real effects?
- If there are real effects, what are the channels?
- What do we know about the institutional parameters that condition the strength of the spillovers from the financial sector?
- Has new regulation after the crisis of 2007-08 helped more than it hinders?
The keynote speaker will be Atif Mian (Printon University).
